FAQs

What is stamped concrete?

Stamped concrete is concrete patterned to look like stone, brick, or wood, providing an aesthetically pleasing and durable surface for patios, walkways, and driveways. This versatile material not only mimics the appearance of natural materials but also offers a variety of textures and colors, making it a popular choice for both residential and commercial projects. The process of stamping involves impressing a pattern into freshly poured concrete, allowing for creative designs and customization that can enhance any outdoor space.

How long does it last?

With proper care and maintenance, stamped concrete can last 25 years or more without major issues, providing a durable and visually appealing surface for various outdoor applications such as patios, walkways, and driveways. Regular sealing and cleaning will help preserve its stunning appearance and structural integrity, allowing homeowners to enjoy it for many years to come.

Can I customize my design?

Absolutely! We work closely with you to choose patterns and colors that fit your style and home. If you're uncertain on a pattern or design, we are happy to offer our advice as well.

Is stamped concrete slippery?

No, when we seal we apply Shur-Grip, which makes your stamped concrete much safer by providing an enhanced grip on the surface. This is particularly beneficial in wet conditions, where slipping can become a concern.

How long will it take?

Each job is different, but we usually pour less than a week after the forms are set up. Once the concrete is poured, your stamped concrete can be ready to use in as little as a few days, weather permitting of course.

Do you offer free estimates?

Absolutely! We can’t wait for you to fill out the form, or just give our office a call to set up a free estimate!

How should I care for my concrete in the winter?

In the winter you should avoid using snow plows on any driveways. We also recommend you do not use salt as it can corrode the cement. As an alternative, you should use Calcium Magnesium Acetate (CMA) instead.

How often should I reseal my stamped concrete?

We recommend sealing your stamped concrete every other year. However, each job is different and some may need to be sealed every year or can be sealed every two-three years.

I have an uneven yard, do I need to do anything before installing concrete?

You don't have to do anything. We will provide the gravel to even everything out, and if needed, we can even install a retaining wall.

I'm worried about the water puddling up, what can you do about this?

Don't worry, even though we have to pitch the concrete away from the pool, we can install drains to make sure water won't puddle up near your house or your door.

How long does stamped concrete last?

With proper installation and routine maintenance, stamped concrete can last 25 years or more. Sealing every 2–3 years is the best way to protect the color, texture, and integrity of the surface. Compared to pavers or natural stone, stamped concrete requires far less upkeep and is much less prone to shifting or weed growth.

Can You Stamp Over Existing Concrete?

No. stamped concrete requires a fresh pour to achieve the proper depth, finish, and durability. However, if you have an old slab that's cracked or worn out, we offer full tearouts so we can start with a clean slate. During your free estimate, we'll assess the condition of your existing concrete and provide a quote that includes removal if needed.
